Is it acceptable to wear blue breeches to a horse show?

I have a nice pair of navy blue, full seat riding breeches. Could I wear them to a horse show? My horse has a matching navy blue saddle pad. I would also be wearing black boots (with black half chaps), a black velvet helmet, and a polo shirt of some kind. This is a big local show and I am riding a green horse so we will only be competing in a W/T/C class. I have light and dark tan breeches but I lost a lot of weight and they’re too big! The horse is a flea-bitten gray. Thanks.

I'd suggest asking someone whom you trust locally. That might be perfectly fine for some shows and completely not fly for others, but an experienced showperson in your region would be able to tell you for sure.

I'd think, though, that if it's a show where you can wear half-chaps that the color of the breeches should be fine, but I am admittedly not an expert in show fashion.
Reply:Yeah, you can.

But it looks better if you wear tan breeches, so I'd buy a pair.
Reply:I would think that since it's a local show, it may have different standards. Best thing to do, is ask them.
Reply:I like navy blue with a gray. I think it looks sharp. I would suggest that this would look alot more professional than tan that is falling off of you. Just my oppion. Good Luck
Reply:i wouldn't it considered not proper. most of the time they wear cream or tan. but as stated above if its local they might have different standards.
