I'm having horse lessons this week, anything I need to know or anything??
What you need to know :

1)-keep your heels down

2-hands not touching the saddle

3)-legs back

4)-feet parallel with the horse

5)-and when you post think of having a belt buckle and somone pulling it upwards.

6)- elbows at your sides

7)- most importantly, HAVE FUN!! =D

these are the basics they will help you A LOT!
Reply:just go over your basics again-i think what you need to do-sit striaght and clam-dont forget to the teacher is always right lol-i figrued that out hahahha.

Dont forget in your trot to rise and land lightly on the horses back and diangols-if you good then you might get to cnater which you sit deep in the saddle which is hard for beginners but dont worry about thing.

sure you will be fine

good luck
Reply:well, if it is your first lesson in a wile you are going to be considered a beginner. eventually you will get what you learned as a kid back but for now, you will need to work on gaining everything back. really listen to your trainer. we can all be hard headed at times so be sure that you listen to what she has to say.

remember to keep your heels down while riding. do not pull back at your horses mouth while riding unless you want to stop. some people tend to hang on to the horses mouth to balance themselves out and you never can tell how a horse will react to it. try to be light in the saddle and feel the beat. for your diagonal, remember to "rise and fall with the wall". that means that the outside leg should be what you are going by, when it is forward, you are up. when it is back, you are down. you can also say to yourself "up, down, up, down....." in your head if it helps.

just some ideas to consider. have fun :-)
Reply:sprry i saw your question on the animal cruelty thing and then it was deleted . It is so sad!!! Could you send me the link again? I only got to the second dog. And I couldnt watch anymore. OMg I cant stop crying Why do they do this. If you want to kill a dog at least skin it while it is dead!
Reply:Good for you! As far as any tips, just make sure to listen to your instructor, always keep your head up, and stay focused on your horse and what he/she is doing. It sounds like you have all the necessary equipment...so GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!!
Reply:Really good to hear someone getting back into the saddle.

Just enjoy it - you will be surprised what will naturally come back to you.

I tell my newish pupils shoulders back smile and don't forget to breath !!

Have fun
Reply:get some books from your local library, internet, family, friends and soak up all the info you can on horses, anything is good
Reply:Just be calm and have fun, take deep breaths and relax, donannick if u make a mistake, no one is really gonna care if u muck up and we all do sometimes.Have fun!!!!!
