What do you think about this for the beginning of a story?

Riley was standing next to the serving station where the cocktail waitresses picked up their drink orders, intently reading the scoresheets from the night's rodeo, when a drunk voice next to her ear said "Hey baby, wanna take me for a ride?"


Riley didn't falter, didn't even blink an eyelash. She spit a wad of tobacco at the faded brown boots in her line of vision and kept right on reading.





BTW- this is the start of a short about a fiesty Texas woman, and yeah, she has a guy's name for a reason.

What do you think about this for the beginning of a story?

I consider Riley more of a girl name but whatever you want.
