Tack colors?

I'm buying a saddle and the brown saddles look so pretty! But i have black boots.. and personally i hate black and brown..(except on horses! lol)

Tan/black saddles are pretty with black boots.

black is nice but it seems just so boring..

what color looks best on a Bay horse? what do you think?

what colors do you like? and what color horse do you ride? bridle, sadles and pads

thanks!

Tack colors?
Are you talking about English, if so then the black brown combo will have to work. You have a bay horse, if it is a dark bay, then you want a ligther saddle no matter weather you show English or Western, the point of the tack is to get noticed, so dark horse=light saddle, and blues and reds look good on bays. and if you show English your pad should be white. And make sure your saddle and bridle match in color.
Reply:i think that black would look nice but make sure that your bridle matches it too. black boots with oak (or whatever brownish color your tack could be) tack is fine. i ride like that!

i have a chestnut haflinger (gelding) pony. i ride in an oak barn saddle/bridle with a purple saddle pad.
Reply:If you are getting a dressage saddle, go with black and if you are getting a jumping saddle, go with brown. If you get a lighter "oakbark" colored saddle, it will look more like red and black. I have black boots and I ride in a brown saddle

(half the time) and it does not bother me, but I like black and brown together as far as tack goes. A friend of mine has a black saddle with brown knee rolls and seat and it looks amazing.
Reply:I think you should go havana brown. All of us have black boots...and they look fine with brown saddles. I have two saddles in havana brown and they look good on any color of horse from grey to black. They also look exceptionally well on palomino horses. Here are some examples of havana brown saddles..

And for colors..I own a black horse that I do dressage with and I fit him into lime green! Lime green splints, whip/crop, gloves, helmet cover, pad, and a ribbon head band for his bridle! Personally I think burgendy or purple looks best on bay horses. It is really your call on this one but that is what I recommend. It also depends what discipline you ride. For western pastel colors are in and for English (which I assume you ride) darker funky colors like burgendy, dark purple, and dark blues/greens are in.
Reply:I think either black or brown would go with a bay, and I think that black boots would look so bad with a brown saddle either, and you can do any color pad ect with them also. I have a sorrel horse and my saddle is medium brown, breast collar and bridle as a every day saddle and thte I have a light brown %26amp; white saddle that has pink stars on it and for the bridle I use a white leather with hot pink brow/nose band with white stars in the center. I hope this helped you and good luck. Here is a good website www.hobbyhorseinc.com
Reply:I own and ride a dark bay. I personally think when I oil my leather is that light orange (most new bridles that haven't been oiled are that color) or light brown. Any color that doesn't exactly match the horse's color will be fine. As for the boots, I wear black boots on a brownish tan saddle and I look just fine, I personally don't see a problem with it. On my pads, everyone says my horse looks good with blue, or white, and sometimes red. I don't really care about that color of the tack, pads, boots, if the boots match with the saddle, blah blah blah. I don't care what other people think about my stuff because it's their problem, you see, I care if the horse is comfortable with it, and likes it. Do you think the horse actually cares?
Reply:Brown saddle, black boots, tan slacks, chocolate or black jacket. Hunter seat riders look good in black boots.

I used to ride pintos, brown saddle, tan slacks, chocolate jacket, pink shirt which matched the saddle pad. Rode western, so wore brown boots.
Reply:black boots with brown tack is ok. i perfer havana brown for english tack. the reddish brown isnt too attractive to me. for some reason i like the light brown leather for western saddles and tack..... only dressage saddles are black and that will prob be the only time you will see black boots with black tack......
Reply:I have a med. tan saddle which I use on a brown, black, white paint horse and on a bay horse. On my paint horse I have a med. tan bridle, lime green rains and a green pad. On my bay horse I use a dark tan bridle, rains, and a gray pad.
Reply:yeah buying tack can be really tough.

i ride a chesnut brown horse and i have a brown bridle, saddle, and breast collar and i wear black boots.

tan saddles are pretty but you just have to make sure theres not TOO much of a contrast between your horse and the saddle
